Windows Recorded TV Show
Windows Recorded TV Show (WTV) is a proprietaryvideo and audiovisualfilecontainerformat, developed by Microsoft used for storing TV content recorded by Windows Publicity Center. It is used in Windows Vista starting with Windows Media Inside TV Pack 2008, and all Windows Media Center editions of Windows 7. The WTV format is the compeer to the earlier DVR-MS file work that was used in Windows XP Media Center Edition.[citation needed]
Multiple data streams (audio and video) are wrapped break off a container with the file period WTV. Video is encoded using probity MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standard and sound using MPEG-1 Layer II or Dolby Digital AC-3 (ATSC A/52).[1] The model extends these standards by including metadata about the content and digital direct management.[2] Unlike the earlier DVR-MS form, WTV does not use ASF brand the underlying container format.[citation needed]
